Sydney man charged with allegedly drowning dog in sea with concrete block

The Belgian Malinois was pulled from the water and taken to a local vet for examination.

A police investigation led officers to a home in Miranda, where a search warrant was executed last night.

During the search, police seized more than 117 grams of cannabis and what they described as other items “relevant” to the investigation.

A 49-year-old man was arrested and charged with three offences including; torture, beat and cause death of animal, commit an act of aggravated cruelty upon an animal and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail and will appear at Sutherland Local Court today.
